| How
Can Balinfern Associates Assist You or Your Organisation? |
In large
measure the answer to this question lies with you. In any organization
there are always those areas of activity, existing or proposed, that need
that little extra help. 'If only we had the time', 'If only we had extra
resources', 'If only someone could devote themselves to
', 'If only were
had someone who has the experience and skills to
', 'If only we had someone
who had the contacts to
',
. you will I'm sure identify in part with
these and like thoughts and anxieties! You are therefore the person best
able to initially identify your broad areas of need, although naturally
we may be able to assist you to clarify these.
May we suggest
that we would be particularly interested in discussing with you how we
might potentially assist in areas including, but are not limited to:
Consulting
Administrative
and management review including organisational design, restructuring
and so-called 'change management';
Strategic,
operational and organisational planning;
Project and research management;
Developmental activities in raising research funding, including assistance
in research grant drafting, sponsor identification, liaison and negotiation;
Research and intellectual property management;
Research and project contract design and negotiation; and
Personnel recruitment.
We
can also assist in many areas of IT development, with special interest
and expertise in the:
Design, development, testing and implementation of computer assisted
multimedia interactive learning packages and systems.
Coaching
Maybe you
have special need to provide one-on-one coaching and its associated
support to a member of your staff or executive, or for that matter a
number of them? Maybe YOU have need for this support, or know
someone who does?
Coaching
is NOT COUNSELLING!
Counselling
is usually for those perhaps already traumatised and who find themselves
put severely 'out of balance' by their circumstances.
Coaching
on the other hand is for those who need some 'outside' guidance to help
them clarify their thinking and personal strategies on an issue or issues
relating to their professional, career or life/personal experiences.
Of course, at times they may be initially temporarily very unsettled
by these issues, and think they need to see a 'counsellor', but a few
sessions of coaching can achieve wonders in the majority of circumstances.
People who most often benefit from a coach, are frequently those who
need someone they can learn to trust. Someone to act as a sounding board,
a confidant, mentor, someone who is good listener, someone to help
THEM identify the way through their current circumstances. Maybe
someone who has been there? The coach needs, by necessity, to come from
outside their immediate peers, work colleagues, friends and family.
That is, someone they can trust with their thoughts, feelings, fears
and confidences. Someone who will listen and NOT pass judgment, other
than of course in a strictly professional coaching sense. Someone who
can, and will, maintain strict confidentiality! This is a COACH.
If you
would like to have a strictly confidential discussion with Peter
Cook to explore your questions or concerns about Coaching then please
feel free to contact him, as he will be only too pleased to assist you.
Coaching is provided one-on-one; and can be face to face, over the telephone
(often the most popular and effective option), or via Email. Peter's
current client's include small business people, middle and senior/executive
level management in the public and private sectors, in both the for-profit
and not-for-profit organisations. This includes career academics and
researchers.
